What this SEO checker looks at
The scan reads one page of your site the way a crawler does (robots.txt first), plus the files around it (sitemap, llms.txt, redirects and a sample of internal links), asks Google for its speed data, and runs up to 25 checks across three kinds of search. Every problem shows the evidence it was based on (the actual title, the exact robots.txt line, the broken link) and links to the official guidance:
- SEO, for Google's results: a noindex instruction or robots.txt rule that keeps Google out, HTTPS and the http-to-https redirect, www and non-www consistency, redirect chains, the canonical tag, the title and meta description (missing, too long or too short), one clear H1, enough text to rank, mobile viewport, page language, link-preview tags, image alt text, internal links and broken ones, the sitemap, and Core Web Vitals from real Chrome users (or Google's lab test, clearly labelled, when there is too little real-user data).
- AEO, for answer boxes and AI Overviews: structured data (schema.org): whether it is there, whether it parses and whether it has the properties Google requires, and question-style headings answered right below them.
- GEO, for AI assistants: whether your robots.txt shuts out the crawlers of ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and others, and whether you publish an llms.txt (an emerging convention, not a ranking factor).
The score starts at 100 and drops 18 points for each urgent problem, 9 for each important one and 4 for each minor one, overall and separately for SEO, AEO and GEO. Problems are ordered worst first, and the checks that passed are listed too.
How to fix what it finds
- Urgent problems (noindex, no HTTPS, AI crawlers blocked, no title or description) can keep the page out of results entirely. Fix them first.
- Title and description problems cost clicks. Preview new ones with the SERP snippet preview.
- Structured data: check what you have and what is missing with the schema checker.
- AI crawler access: the AI crawler checker goes further than this scan, testing 15 crawlers and firewall blocks such as Cloudflare's.
What a one-page scan cannot tell you
Which of your pages matter most, which searches you almost rank for, and which fixes are worth the most clicks: that needs your real Google data. SEO Rank Fixer connects Google Search Console (free from Google), reads every page of your site, ranks each fix by the clicks it is worth and checks it again every night.
Common questions
Is this SEO checker really free?
Yes. The scan needs no sign-up and shows your score, what is working and the first three problems in full, with the evidence behind each. The rest are listed by name and shown in full free when you create an account on the Free plan, which needs no card.
What is the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?
SEO is ranking in Google's normal results. AEO (answer engine optimization) is being the answer Google and others quote in answer boxes and AI Overviews. GEO (generative engine optimization) is being read and cited by AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity. They overlap: clear, well-structured pages that crawlers can read help all three.
Why does my site get a low score when it ranks well?
The scan judges one page and the site files around it against checks that can be verified from outside. A strong site can still miss a meta description or structured data. Rankings depend on much more, such as links and how well the page matches searches, which is why the full product reads your Google Search Console data.
Why did the scan say my site blocks automated visitors?
The site answered our scanner with 401, 403 or 429, which usually means a firewall or bot protection. That can also affect search and AI crawlers, so it is worth testing with the AI crawler checker.
